Amany Abaza is the artist responsible for faux finishing and incorporating unique materials into custom furniture designs at CQ Design Studio. With a B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Alexandria, College of Fine Arts, she is well aware of what clients expect from a high encustom furniture designer and manufacturer.

Her expertise in faux finishing has made her an indispensible part of CQ Design Studio. She has created wood veneers, marble, shagreen (stingray skin), ivory, tortoise shell and goat skin that are imperceptible from the actual materials. Her mastery of gold and silver leaf and her work with genuine leather, shagreen and parchment has helped enhance many custom furniture pieces. She also specializes in restoration, oil painting, design patterns, mosaics and murals (trompe l’oeil). Her beautiful and distinctive work, in both traditional and contemporary styles, has been sought after by both commercial and residential clients.
